Professional Community for Car Dealers, Marketing, Advertising and Sales Leaders
Today, everything from conversations, bank transactions, shopping, research and communication happens online. So why should buying or selling cars be any different?
In a study by Cisco systems focused on a customer’s online experience, a majority of car buyers in America preferred the online buying experience. They were also willing to give necessary personal information to make the sale or purchase happen. In fact, 83% of the respondents in the study preferred to research a car sale online rather than pick up a phone and talk to a dealer. During Cisco’s global study, they also noticed that while Indians and Brazilians preferred manufacturer websites, Americans preferred third party websites while buying or selling. They believe that a third party website can offer the neutral and relevant information that is critical for a smooth online transaction.
Although customers who want to sell cars visit dealerships, they still prefer to use online resources, if available (kiosks, wifi to access the internet via their smartphones etc.) even if there are dealers present to assist them. The key element for every successful online transaction is accurate and legitimate data. By removing personal interactions, customers seem to be willing to shell out more personal information as compared to when faced with a personal encounter.
