Change Your Oil Regularly!
I can't stress this enough, Changing your Oil is IMPORTANT. For some reason, many people forget to change their oil every 3,000, 4,500 or 5,500 or 6,500 miles depending on what their manufacturer maintenance schedule recommends. When I use to work for a dealership, we had a good amount of used cars come in with low miles, horrible engine ticks, and tar-like oil. Most of these needed rebuilt engines or were just junked due to the damage that had already been inflicted. A good quality oil change is much CHEAPER than replacing a motor.
When regular engine oil changes are neglected, normally free-flowing lubricating oil breaks down, becomes contaminated, ceases to flow, and is transformed into a thick soup of waste products. That’s when serious engine damage is imminent.
Note: Fresh Engine Oil has a clear golden yellow liquid look to it. Tar-like oil coming out of engine is sludge-based and NOT GOOD for the motor. In terms of oil preferences, I use personally recommend Mobile 1 Full Synthetic.
