How to take care of your C7 Corvette

The C7 Corvette is one of the coolest cars that you can ever own. Not only does it look cool, but it has really cool features as well. We won’t really go much into what this Corvette model offers but more on how to take care of it. While a C7 Corvette is a really cool car, it does need a bit of maintenance from the owner. Here are a few maintenance tips on how to take care of it.

Buy a Detail Kit

When you get this kind of car, the first thing that you have to buy is a detail kit. The kit has all the essential things needed to make the car look clean and shiny. A detail kit consists of a good car wax, polish spray, plastic trims, and tire dressings and other things. This is the ultimate kit that you’ll need for beautifying your car.

Wash Your Car Regularly

Before polishing up your car, you’ll need to make it clean first. You need car wash mitts and a car wash mix specially made for corvettes. One thing that you have to make sure of is that you don’t use dishwashing detergent on your car. You can buy some good quality car wash mixes in auto stores.

Smoothen Your Car with a Clay Bar

A clay bar can actually be used tosmoothen out the external part of your car. Over time, the paint would build up causing lumps of paint to form on your car. When this happens, you can use a clay bar to smoothen out the rough parts. Simply use a detail polish spray and rub the affected part with the clay bar. Take note though that you should only do this after you wash your car and before you wax it.

Wax your Car

The best type of wax for your C7 Corvette would be liquid wax because it is effective and does not damage the car in any way. The best liquid wax to use is Zymol liquid and can be found in most online stores. Other good brands that you can find in retail stores would be Ice Turtle Wax. All of these can work wonders for your Corvette C7.

Other Things to Do

Aside from the things mentioned earlier, other things that you can do for your car would be to chrome trim, clean up the wheels, the glass and other parts. You can use tire sprays for your tires and also a tire cleaner to prevent brake dust. Eagle One is a good brand that you can use for this. Also, use a good glass cleaner that does not streak so that your glass will look shiny and new.

The Inside

Lastly, you must also take care of the interior of your car. Make sure that your engine bay is steam cleaned annually in order to prevent leaks and buildup of dirt. As for the inside of your car, just vacuum it regularly and brush off the extra dust.

Although doing all these things may seem like extra work, it’ll definitely be worth it to keep your C7 Corvette looking like brand new for a long time. A bit of effort will definitely go a long way for your car.
