A Houston-based car broker aims to disrupt an industry in need of some fine tuning.
The car-selling process today is antiquated and tends to favor the dealership more than the consumer, said Michael Dodd, CEO of Carphoria LLC. A former car salesman, Dodd developed an idea that puts the hands in the power of the consumer.
Customers plug in their make, model and vehicle identification number on Carphoria's website, go into the store and receive an offer on their car, whether it be a Rolls Royce or a clunker, Tracey Trachta, vice president of Carphoria, said.
