@Alyssa Gomez - You will have to "Add" the notes Application - All Facebook Fan Pages have it installed you have to just "turn it on" - look at the row with your apps - you will see a down arrow, just click that and a new menu appears beneath - on one of the empty boxes hit the plus sign and a new menu will appear - you will see a box that says "ADD TO FAVORITES" look for the Notes APP and Add it - I am about 100% sure when this box opens, you can add the Notes App to your Page - (I just tried it on a dummy page to make sure).

When you get a chance go ahead and google - Two City Plaza Rentals -  and you can test it out for yourself and see if the FB note is ranked like the image below -

I use to work in the Automotive Industry about a year ago and had a lot of success with inbound marketing using FB Notes and a whole slew of things...... there is more to what we do to get ranked but I can't share all our secrets - If you want more information, the name of our Full Service Digital Agency is SMDigital Partners.

@Lenny Gomez From what I can find, I believe that you can only post notes from a normal account with friends and not fans. I could not find it on my page to post. Is there something I am missing, I thought I would give it a try. If it comes to only being on the friends page, to my understanding, we want to use our business page and not this type. As far as the google plus page, I just want google to fix our multiple listings before I can concentrate on this as well. I still don't see the value, but of course I'll do what I need to do.

I enjoy Google+ / for how we use it is more about placement for Google Places / Maps, etc..whatever G is calling it today - there is a lot of power in these pages... also don't forget about Facebook notes... they hold SEO juice... no one really talks about it...

One of the advantages of a Google+ is that a Google Virtual Tour (Google Business Photos) of the dealership is part of the about section of Google+ "see inside":

Like the previous commenters, I am not a raving fan of Google+, however... It is Google, they are showing Google+ Business Pages in various SERP's... So, for the small amount of time and effort required, it seems that a basic presence with daily content posts for a car dealer's Google+ Business Page is a minimum requirement. Google+ Business Pages for dealers are part of what I would consider a minimum set of social media marketing content syndication requirements.

As with any social network, if you can connect with and create loyal followers of those connections then it is worth doing. Of course, as with anything, the number of the people present and their willingness to be "connected with" will dictate the resources given but I'm just hesitant to use a blanket statement and say that it is worthless. It does depend on a variety of factors.

No, I'm not defended G+ at all, all I am saying is that put some effort into it and see what happens. If it was a good faith effort and nothing happens then move on, just don't dismiss it because it's G+.

Did I mention that I don't care for G+? lol

The only reason I commented is because I heard the same thing years ago when I was talking to dealers about using Facebook (you know what I mean) and I felt an urge to say something.

I think thats the problem, David. It says Google on it so we've been trained to think it has to be good someday. But when will that day come? And OK, say it does come... How does that justify taking valuable time and resources from a dealer now?

We get in to this "early adopters win" mode and try to pretend that you won't be able to catch up when it catches on, but it never pans out that way. All I'm saying is, not right now. I'm OK with never say never. We can keep watching. And hell if someone that likes to live on a permanent intravenous starbucks drip 23 hours a day and only sleep for an hour (JD) all in hopes for that day to come when something (anything) happens thats of some tangible benefit to the dealer, great. Drop me a line and I'll get right to work.

I just don't understand why we (marketers) still tell dealers to do this when we know it doesn't work. And we know it doesn't work.

I'm not a G+ fan either, but people said the same thing about Facebook before we could prove an ROI. I don't think its worth dumping just yet, if only because Google is wanting to integrate it everywhere.

Comment by Timothy Martell on June 10, 2013 at 1:41pm

But why? I would really love some one to show me an example of a dealer generating real ROI as a result of Google +. You can do Local without wasting all the time on +. And the fact that you can just copy everything you were posting to Facebook shouldn't matter. What is the purpose?

I know even JD Rucker still loves it for some reason. But I just can't justify taking a dealer's money to make it part of our service offering because I just haven't seen any clear evidence that there is any form of ROI at all.

Hell, even Barack Obama dumped Google + during his campaigns because they couldn't reach any real people there. What does that tell you?

Just my 10 cents...
