The "Automotive Marketing Boot Camp" being held in Orlando, Fl April 16 - 18 presents a unique opportunity for automotive internet and digital marketing managers to learn from the most “hands on” experienced professionals in our field. The list of presenters is like a “best of” collection of the people that I have been following for years. I was recently asked to speak to a dealer management company about digital marketing and after an hour or so I was asked “In a nutshell, were do you feel that most dealerships are falling short?” my answer “The opportunity for the managers and team members that are physically tasked with doing this job need more access to training and attending events that are usually reserved for general managers and dealer principles.”

Anyone who holds the position of Internet sales and marketing manager knows that the playing field is constantly changing and evolving. It takes as much time to keep up as it does to actually do the job. This boot camp is the perfect place to collect the knowledge and experience that others have gained and take it back to your dealerships and put what you learned into action.

I remember asking to attend an Internet Training session in 2006. It was awkward for a person in my position to ask to be flown across the country to learn more about the job I was doing, but his answer has always been the same since then. “Go”. The investment has paid for itself a thousand times over. Since then I have learned from the very best in our industry, including attending last year’s “SEO Boot Camp”.  I can promise that you will gain tools and knowledge that will make it possible for you to exceed the goals that your dealer has set for your internet department this year. If you want to dominate your market, you will need to have the latest and most effective weapons at your disposal.

It all starts with asking. Email your boss a link to the boot camp page and just write “I’d like to attend this” You might be amazed at what happens next. (It worked for me). When you get the chance to discuss it, tell them that you know that this will help your store increase sales. If you meet any resistance just say “Boss, it’s cheaper to get ahead then it is to catch up. I should really go this event”

AJ, It's great to see that you'll be joining us. There will be a wealth of experience at this years Automotive Marketing Boot Camp, that creates an opportnity to both teach and learn at the same time.  This is a very unique event and should be taken advantage to by any car dealer that is serious about competing in the automotive digital marketplace. In this constantly evolving digital landscape, "it's not what you've done that counts, but what you are willing to learn."

I just signed up for The Automotive Marketing Boot Camp on Friday. As Rob so rightly stated, we spend as much time trying to keep up as we spend doing our jobs. It is a necessary evil. in watching the video that Brian posted below we have a collection of individuals who spend their time reviewing these changes and then they can deliver them to us in a 3 day workshop. Surely if we want to stay ahead we should "give up" three days of "falling behind". If you don't make it to this Boot Camp, those of us who do attend, will be looking for you on Google Page 2!!!!!
