1 Easy Tweak to Quickly Find the Best Advice Regarding the Recent Google Organic Keyword Changes

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know by now that Google made some major changes recently to the data they provide webmasters.

As of September 23rd Google flipped a switch and made all Google searches secure. This means that organic analytical data (aka organic keywords) is now virtually non-existant for Google traffic.

How do you figure out how to cope in our new "(not provided)" reality?  If you're like me, you started Googling (ironically?) for answers. However, there have been many changes over the last few years to Google's search algorithms. I guarantee if you search for help with understanding and dealing with this new "wrinkle" in SEO strategizing that out-dated advice will pop up at the top of your searches. This gets confusing (and freaking frustrating) fast!

Why is this happening? A trend in blogging recently has been to remove time & date stamps from posts & articles. Bloggers do this because when their articles appear as a result of your search query, they don't want a 3-year old timestamp to discourage you from clicking through to their website. Not posting a date also helps obscure how frequently a blogger posts new content to their site (thereby hiding that 3 week sabbatical they took). I may be guilty of this myself on leighfox.com, however realizing the headache this causes is making me re-evaluate my own website practices.

So how do you cut to the chase? A great work-around to find useful posts and information relevant to the most recent Google changes is to make sure you tweak your search settings.

When you perform a search, make sure to first click "Search tools" at the top of the page and change "any time" to "past month". See the screenshot below:

I hope that this little tip will help save you some time and frustration in self-educating about the recent Google "(not provided)" change so that you can get the answers you need to update your website strategy.
