Selling to Socialites...My 2 Sense in BDC / Internet Sales "Battle of The Trainers" Conference Call

This week I had the opportunity to share the company of a few very established and credible Internet Consultants in the car business on a conference call including one dealer who had reached out for help, and (I think) 100 more across the country just to listen… Continue

The Hardest Part...

Hi ADM! Sorry it's been so long since I've been an active member!

I've been a busy little bee in the Social Media scene, and having a lot of fun being involved in many different facets of it.

I'd love to help anyone wiht my new found knowledge that needs an outside perspective from the car biz. I have found that having both is quite beneficial and eye-opening.

Good luck to all of you in 2010!

Here's my latest entry from my blog...… Continue

It's a New Dawn, it's a New Day...

This might just be the most boring week of my life, and you may fall asleep within the first few phrases.

I figured that the effect of the recent stature of the auto business would eventually effect me beyond my drastic pay cuts as of late, and now it has. My position as Business Development and Internet Manager of the Kasper Auto Group was eliminated last week. The position/department that I have built and toiled over for the last several years of my life with my dedicated staff is… Continue

GM Internet Lead Alert

I will follow this post up with more information as I learn it, but I wanted to pass this information on and see if this has happened to anyone else lately.

I discovered a huge break in the line of communication this week. I received a report this week stating that we've not responded to any of our GM Internet leads in the past 2 week. The same report sent the week prior rated us a top responder. It seems to flip flop, but our process is hasn't. As I'm digging to find out why this is… Continue

What If It's Not Your Call? A Twitter With Questions...

With the immenent closing of many competing dealerhships accross the nation, this question seems appropriate: "What do you do when it's not your call?" As in, when it's not your decison to make, what's the best way to influence the outcome? Who's ear to you speak to? How do you make sure you're represented fairly? I know there are many dealers that feel they got the short end of the stick in the form of a letter stating they were out of business.

I try to apply things in a… Continue

Car Dealerships and Facebook. Looking out for the Customer.

I recently read a post that encouraged car salesmen to create a Facebook account and friend request everyone they knew and those associated to who they knew in an attempt to sell cars. Even if you didn't get a long with that person in high school...friend request them want to sell them a car, don't you?

I've been watching this type of bullying in the car biz for 8 years now. Social networking will be, for some car dealers, the same vain attempt that E-mail campaigns… Continue

Who are our leaders?

I've been priveledged in my life to co-exist with some extrordinarly leaders. In the suburb of Cleveland where I grew up, I was fortunate enough to spend time with an Abbot in my parish who upheld the word vividly.

He drilled, “Be a Leader” into my head, and I have always strived to hold true to that phrase.

I really hope the current circumstances we are in economically allow us to see how great we can all work as a team. Don’t get me wrong, competition is necessary. However,… Continue

A Break in the Process

Blog #1 from the desk of Megan E. Bucher…

Thanks for welcoming me to this online community of car biz knowledge and wisdom! I've desparatlely needed a mentor in this business for a long time, so I'm excited to get some feedback and share what I've learned.

I’m a process oriented person to the extreme. So, when I got the chance to leave the showroom floor in sales to run the BDC in our Auto Group 5 years ago, I jumped at the opportunity. It had fallen short in its first few… Continue
