More Statistics on Facebook Fatigue

I think on a personal level we all know we use Facebook less and less over time and are generally bored with the experience.  According to NielsenWire the average amount of time spent on Facebook per user has gone down every month this year - dropping from 7 hours 25 minutes in January to 6 hours 20 minutes per month until they abruptly stopped making that data available.

Great study by ExactTarget on the types of features used by Smartphone owners in the U.S.

Text messaging (SMS) is the most popular, with 38% doing constantly throughout the day vs. 31% using voice and 29% using email constantly.  Overall, over 90% of Smartphone owners use SMS weekly and only 3% never use SMS.

As the attached graph from the Adobe Mobile Experience Survey shows consumers strongly prefer mobile web browsers to applications. 

81% prefer web browser for researching specific product and price information

71% prefer web browser for comparing product and price by different retailers

Think this is an interesting study on how the mind works as it relates to the potential we are in a social media bubble.  What do you think this says about the long-term future of the hard core social media users with hundreds or thousands of 'friends'?  Will they eventually cut back on friends and likes?
