Well said Ralph & Dee.

I am constantly nudging our dealers to identify their Yelpers and Google fans at point of sale and service. When you see an Iphone in the hands of your customer you know they get hammered with Yelp reviews first for any service or product they query on mobile smart phones. If Droid, your customer gets fed G Local reviews first on mobile. That's a whole lot of people. During the buying experience, ask them if they Yelp. Ask them if they seek reviews on G or post reviews on G. Mature Yelpers love to brag, so give them the opportunity. Next step? Remind them of the email follow up they will receive with a big Yelp and Google logo. You would not believe the higher review posting response rates with this hybrid process of mobile device identification and the vocal nudge at point of sale, followed up with nice visuals that evoke positive and short circuit negative. That's how we roll.

Amongst review sites, I believe Yelp! is one of the best for targeting Gen-X buyers.  At Yelp!, the content about experiences consumers are having at specific venues (including car buying experiences at dealerships) is some of the most authentic I have seen.  And, this has been over the course of several years.  Check out what it means to have a good amount of Yelp! reviews at this link.  Although there are varying reviews, the mechanism of value in the Yelp! model is the content.  So, the more reviews a dealership can generate (including the True Yelper! badged ones), the more valuable their online presence will mean to Gen-X buyers who research and review online including at social media sites very often.Yelp!
