If you're interested in offering rewards for on the lot interaction you can now do it with SCVNGR's Rewards. I think this is what most of you are looking for at least from the conversation thread...

Interesting article today about Foursquare in talks with the search engines

Foursquare seems to have the potential to become a dealer's friend with the use of the "Nearby Special" feature that permits venues to offer specials to people checking in to venues nearby. We will be talking about this in 2 weeks in an upcoming live web cast.

As with any technology based media it has positive and negative aspects to it. I found an article that talked about the WSJ uses Foursquare to tell people about Times Square evacuation. This shows it is getting more and more into the mainstream. We work with dealers to reach out to locals through these connections and increase a stores online footprint. I would love to hear about how others are using it.

Thank you for sharing @Patrick.

I just came across this article on Twistimage that brought to mind some of the concerns Ralph has been expressing about foursquare.

Maybe you should not be publishing anything online

It's a two-minute read.

I would like to add that for those of you connecting everything to everything, definitely consider Patrick's comment on my foursquare post (below) about the futility of doing that. I for one have begun to stop following people when I am forced to see everything they do across the various social sites. I don't need to know where and when you are getting groceries, switching planes, etc. Since foursquare came out allowing people to publish their updates to Twitter and Facebook this has become an obnoxious problem.

Although I am not as avid a foursquare user as many others, I am taking my time to get to know how it works, and have even added my new office as a location. Here's my profile URL:
