I am curious on how this can be approached. When you frame in your inventory to your website are you hurting in the Search Engines from doing so?

When a consumer types in a search for a vehicle they are interested in online, I know they don't place the full description down to the VIN number / Stock number / trim etc. They mentally filter it out to help them get more results.

Any opinions, feedback etc. I would greatly appreciate it.

Good point Matt! I know that when you index your inventory it comes down to a NO NO to the search enginges.

For EX: 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe LT FULL VIN & Stock

I see them being placed on the site map even regardless if the vehicle was sold. ( Duplicate Content )
It is imperative that your inventory is being indexed on individual URLs to Google. Not only will this help with log tail searches, but you'll also be creating the inherent change that google likes to see on your website. If you're dialing into your DMS to pull inventory and then updating the inventory content on your website automatically this becomes very important. Your inventory changes even faster than the salespeople at many dealerships! ha! So, by indexing your inventory with Google you're showing them constant change that they love to see as well as allowing your customers to deep link into specific pieces of inventory when putting in a long tail search which are becoming more and more prevalent.

Inventory being placed on the site map with vins, how long or can you remove them from the site map once sold along with adding new inventory coming in being placed on there?

Matt - Yes we use Homenet. I tell you what that is a great company for any dealership. Great customer support, service & very robust / accurate.
Absolutely right Matt. Sitemaps should be dynamic and constantly changing as the content and inventory on the site change.
