I get asked this once in awhile..... How do you shoot a Video on a rainy, windy day Ken???

So it`s raining & real windy & you can`t go out & shoot any videos because you don`t have the luxury of an indoor studio/garage......... So what do you do???? Thought I`d share one of the many different ways that I effectively create videos in not so nice weather conditions. BTW..... I never wear a mic in any of the videos either.

Hope it helps!

Hey Meaghan - Thanks glad you enjoyed the clip & I hope it gave you a little insight as to just one of the many cool ways to utilize video.

I started doing these videos almost seven years ago.......... and yes the clips can definitely can have an impact on your overall sales if used strategically.

I have many different ways that I shoot/act in these various clips too. We do a cool thing at our VW store every Thursday night till about midnight; it`s called VW Nights under the Lights -

Here is one of those clips;

So I get a little more ummmmmmmmmm......."enthusiastic" when I do a VW clip as I`m targeting a somewhat younger crowd.

What determines how I`m going to act in the video, basically depends on what type of vehicle that I`m showing store. As you will see, I`m much more "Reserved" in this used Mercedes S550 that we shot last week;

Again, this is a different type of buyer so more than likely jumping off of a beautiful Mercedes or Infiniti will most definitely turn that type of buyer off. Once again, here is another more "Reserved" clip;

And depending on the car, I might want to really try to excite/intrigue you;

And you want to hear what sort of impact video can have at your dealership, just listen very closely to what these two customers had to say;

Here is another recent customer;

So I hope that gets you a little excited in regards to the possibilities of utilizing video at your dealership Meaghan -

If you want to find me on the Internet, just Google Ken Beam NJ, OR Ken Beam cars & you find a few things about!~

Hope this encouraged you a little Meaghan - ~

Great video! Thanks for sharing Ken! We're working on creating videos for all of our used cars as well and there's been plenty of rainy/windy days up here in the North Country lately too. I like your idea, it puts the consumer in the drivers seat. How long has your dealership been doing videos for? Did you notice if they increased your internet car sales? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to the car business. I started as a Salesperson but I've since moved into the Internet Department. I'm loving it and really working hard to promote our dealership online.

This video was shot during a rainy and windy day, which serves to accentuate this vehicle's bad weather stability, quietness, reliability and safety... Ken Beam shows us why you do not need all sunny days to record a Vehicle Presentation Video (VPV).
