On July 11, 2010, Jay Wolfe Toyota built the "Jay Wolfe Race for the Ride" trek on SCVNGR all through downtown St. Louis. This trek had people going places, doing challenges and earning points. The challenges asked people to solve location-based riddles, take photos and more! The top scorer at the end of the day came away with a brand new 2010 Toyota Corolla!

Ralph and Steve, thanks for the comments. I'd be more than happy to discuss some of the metrics for the event with anyone who's interested. Just sent me a note or leave a comment and we can set up a time to chat over the phone.

Steve, I'd be happy to talk to you too about how we and our clients measure success! A campaign that focuses on intense customer engagement and experience isn't for everyone.

You can also check out these links which have more video and insight into the community oriented event and how it works...

Perhaps Cort is willing to share some of the performance metrics he spoke about during his presentation to me and Gary Weinberg... But, that is entirely up to Cort. I would not want him to get in trouble with his dealer client for making public what is essentially private business information. As for what is considered "successful" I would argue that all depends on what the business set as the promotion's objectives during the planning sessions.

Be Patient! The sound comes on before the video portion... Let it play and learn how a dealer used Location Based GPS Phone Apps to power a dynamic and successful sales promotion...
