Agreed Ralph Paglia, there are plenty of lead generation tools available for Facebook. Dealers just need to get creative with their wares. Yes, engagement, engagement, engagement (sick of saying it actually), but you can mix up your content. In fact, I think that's a good strategy.

If anyone is struggling with being able embed forms on Facebook, I highly suggest you look at Not only will it enable you to create forms of all types on any web page, it also embed forms on Facebook, etc. It's very affordable and has hooks for all well known CRMs.

Also, you should be taking advantage of Facebook's Power Editor and importation mechanism. You can indeed market to your current CRM dB's through Facebook as well. It's their internal matching tool. It might not be perfect, but it's better than it's been.

JD, great clip... This was EXACTY the point I was making about using the upgraded professional version of Slideshare, to go beyond branding and empower LEAD GENERATION from directly within a social media channel. Facebook provides all of us (AutoMarketing Pros) with Lead Generation Form HTML code that allows customers to populate various dealership website forms with the push of a single button that pulls in the data from the customer's Facebook Profile... Yet, how many dealer website providers have included this feature in their website form architecture?

You are right, and I have personally seen THOUSANDS of sales leads, service coupons and CRM type customer/dealer interactions via social media channels... To think that Social Media is ONLY for branding is about as advanced as believing we should not ever let people see a dealer's inventory online so they have to come to the dealership to find out if we have what they want in stock... AND, if you give me $8,000 a month in small unmarked bills I will make your dealership website DOMINATE GOOGLE and bring those charlatans in Mountain View to their knees!!!
