Ralph, so true. My father went from being a diplomat from the Dominican Republic, to making plastic covers for old furniture, and Cadillac’s in sheep’s head bay NY. He saved up enough money to set up a restaurant and bar, and from there he wound up owning several popular nite clubs, even senior owner to Latin Quarters in NY. He retired and sold everything after we found out he had liver cancer, and almost died. Thank the Lord he survived it, and living comfortably in the Dominican Republic, often calling me to ask me how cold it is her in NJ.

When you watch the "How It Was Made" video, you can't help but appreciate the Cuban Gynecologist Car Salesman... This guy is for real and the behind the scenes video shows his sincerity and the reality of his situation.

Joe, Clarence and Tony,

What really got me laughing when i watched this for the first time is the combination of an immigrant's willingness to embrace a completely different line of work in order to succeed in America, his willingness to have fun with it and the incredible irony that this Cuban Doctor may, in fact, understand the concept of "Viral Marketing" better than many of us so-called experts! Think about it, this guy is a highly educated professional, Cuban medicine is NOT a lightweight career, they are famous for producing some really top notch physicians, who cannot practice in the USA due to the hostile relationship between the USA and Cuba... Did an international dispute preventing this guy from practicing his life's vocation get him down? NO, he found something where he could quickly earn money and for all we know is making a ton of it! My grandfather spoke poor English with a thick Italian accent... And we were not allowed to speak anything except Italian at his Sunday dinner table. But, he built a very successful wholesale produce business and was also able to pay for the construction of a Catholic Church rectory that bears his name to this day... After arriving from Italy with nothing, except his willingness to work hard and be entrepreneurial. This Cuban Doctor may or may not be successful (yet), but i applaud his creativity and willingness to use Video and the web to build up his business.

This is hilarious, but true. It reminds me of most of the successful businessman in my area. The desire to succeed is in the individual. Doesn't matter what language, or even if you speak English or not, just true ambition. My father retired a very wealthy man, understands English, and speaks it worse than this guy, but build several successful business. I love these stories

It was actually my cousin from Miami that found this and sent it to me. He's not in the business so I don't think he understands how funny we find this. Truth is though, this guy is doing something right. He's using video.
