Bill, I'm on it. It normally doesn't cross my desk until the "dust settles" and the search results normalize, but I'll take an early look and see where we are on it.

When new websites go live or are transferred between vendors, there's a shuffle in the searches for about a month as 301 redirects get indexed, links move around, and content changes "play with" the algorithms. My team goes through and makes the adjustments, starts building the links, and checks for any major fluctuations. After a between 3-5 weeks, I then go in and assess the situation, then adjust the plan for the 2nd month. Premium SEO sites are in a continual state of growth within the search engines, so we have to move around our focus constantly. No need to optimize for a particular keyword once we hit #1; at that point, we focus on more opportunities and still monitor the victories at that point.
