Yelp Enhanced Listings-What It Means For Automotive Reputation Management

Third party business listings make up a notable portion of a business’ online reputation. Having an edge against your competition on these sites is essential to increase online engagement with your customers and present your dealership in the best light possible.

 

But with all of the different listings and account levels available on these sites, it can be difficult to pin down your best options. Here's one that no dealer should pass up.

 

Cobalt has assisted dealers in this process by providing the Yelp Enhanced Listing for our reputation management customers.

 

When a dealership enrolls with us, we take the time to look for an existing Yelp listing and convert it into an Enhanced Listing on the dealership’s behalf, or simply create a brand new Enhanced Listing for dealerships that are not currently on Yelp.

 

During this process, the dealership maintains ownership of their Yelp listing. Yelp is one of the largest review sites across all industries and having an Enhanced Listing will only improve your dealership’s presence on this site and visibility with automotive shoppers.

 

What the Enhanced Listing Can Do for You

 

 

There are benefits to upgrading to an Enhanced Listing, such as a photo slideshow, the option to post current specials and announcements, the new “Call to Action” button, and an extended business information section where you have the ability to describe the most important aspects of your business.

 

While there are many added features included in an Enhanced Listing, there is also something missing from these pages: competitor ads! When existing or potential customers visit your Enhanced Listing, they will not see the banner ad at the top of the screen for the dealership down the street, or any competitive advertising mixed in with your business information.

 

The Enhanced Listing is included in all of Cobalt’s Reputation Management packages. However it does not make Yelp a “set it and forget it” review site. Actively engaging with your customers online and updating your photos and listing information on Yelp are some of the best ways to showcase your offline reputation, online.

I believe too many dealers get bored with the idea of reputation "management." It is simply NOT enough to perform damage control. Dealers need to MARKET their reputation to show prospects that they are the dealer to do business with. But, most dealers just share links to their positive reviews via social media or a widget on their website. Why not share reviews in a video, or better yet, capture live customer testimonials?

Just use Yext and they tackle all of this for you. It's their relationship with groups like Yelp. Cobalt is probably using them. Alternatively, UBL and Localeze are wunderbar!

Yelp isn't the be all; end all for reputation either. There are plenty of 3rd party business listings you need to be aware of, give me a call. I'll tell you all of them and more.
