Turn Dealership Blog Posts from Boring to Share Worthy

Increase Dealer Blog Post Shares

Making your Dealership blog posts informative, creative, and relatable; is a game changer. Get out of the driver seat for a moment and see the world from the backseat, by imagining, as a customer, what you would want to learn more about your vehicle, the brand, or local area and then write it down.

This is much easier said than done, I know, for it is not always easy to put hands to keyboard and write, therefore I have come up with five idea generating ways to help you turn your dealership’s blog around, which will help drive more traffic to your blog and create more shares on your blog posts.

1. Think About Common Customer Purchasing Problems:

Address Customer purchasing issues

There are many great topics you can blog about, which can help customers with common problems that arise, when thinking about purchasing a vehicle.

Blog Post Examples:

  • Financing vs. Leasing
  • Standard vs. Automatic
  • New vs. Used Cars
  • The importance of a Test Drive
  • Car Safety Features
  • Cars with the best MPG
  • Green/Hybrid Vehicles

When thinking about writing a blog post for your dealership’s blog, think of ways to inform your customers about purchasing a vehicle and delve into the benefits, the different car types, features and ways to purchase a vehicle, so they can make a more informative decision when in the market for their next car.

2.  Focus on Content for Your Aftermarket Customers:

Dealership aftermarket customer tips

Create blog posts that help customers who have purchased a vehicle from your dealership. Provide tips that can assist them in keeping their car in great shape.

Blog Post Examples:

  • Winter Weather Care
  • When to get an Oil Change
  • How to Check Tire Pressure
  • What Car Dashboard Warning Lights Mean
  • The Importance of Rotating Tires

Keeping your customers informed about how to care for their vehicle is a great way to make your dealership’s blog a place they can turn to for car advice and tips.

3.  Talk about Your Brand’s History and Facts:

Car brand history and facts

Your dealership’s blog is a great place to educate customers about their vehicles and the brand they love.

Blog Post Examples:

  • Ford Mustang Timeline
  • The First Generation Corvette
  • The First Ford Vehicle
  • The Original Chevrolet Badge
  • 9 Generations of the Honda Civic
  • The First Car BMW Successfully Produced
  • Amazing Chevrolet Concept Cars
  • 7 Cool Facts about the Ford Mustang

4.  Write About Dealership Specials, Promotions, New Vehicles and Events:

Dealership Events and Promotions

Invite your customers to take part in the specials, coupons, promotions, arrival of new vehicles and events happening at your dealership, but remember to give the blog post a social vibe!

Blog Post Examples:

  • We Want You to Save On Your Next Oil Change
  • Find Out How You Can Help Your Community with A Test Drive
  • We are having a Social Event and You’re Invited!
  • Brand New 2014 F-150 Has Arrived!

Letting your customers know about what is going on at your dealership and providing them information in ways they can save or help their community by going to your dealership, keeps them informed and provides the option for them to participate.

5.  Go Local!

Dealer Local Area Blog Posts

It is important not to stray too far away from talking about automotive, since that is your expertise, but if you do, make sure that it is about your local area.

Introduce blog posts about your local area to grab the attention of people who live in the same place your dealership is located. This may need some online research done on your part, but it is important to discuss upcoming events, the history about your city or town, sports teams, and/or its local places.

Blog Post Examples:

  • The History behind the Empire State Building
  • 5 Best Places to Eat In Chicago
  • 7 Fun Things to Do This Weekend in Honolulu
  • (Put Local Baseball Team Here) are having an Amazing Charity Event Tomorrow!

Blog posts such as these, educate customers and potential buyers about the place they live in and it makes your dealership’s blog a source for local information.

When creating blog posts, remember:

  • Make sure share buttons are on each of your blog posts
  • Make your blog posts visually appealing with large, clear images that are relevant to the topic of your post.
  • Create lists, such as, “5 Classic Chevrolet Cars worth Remembering”. People love lists!
  • Ask questions as the title of the blog post or at the end of your post to engage readers.
  • Be diverse in the content you create and post

Turn your dealership’s blog from boring to share worthy by making it useful, informative, and relatable. Use your creativity with your automotive knowledge to give your customers a blog they will want to read and share.
