On Friday morning the M5 Team headed to the woods today. Susan Burton went fishing. The boys headed out for a morning of intense training of firearms. Then they got to fire some rounds. The team was fully armed with a .22, .40, .45. Glock, a .22 rifle and Lee's competition pistol.
The level of skill and ability ranged from Lee Harkins, fully trained and ranked near the top in the nation in hand gun competitions. Dave Vaden has had training from Lee over the years. Steve Shaw has not held a gun since summer camp. Today was no summer camp.
As the team headed to the range, a private road on Lee's property, Lee stressed saftey at all times. Lee taught the team to shoot. (See the video here and on Utube).
Susan caught 4 more Bream fish. She is the leader and most probable winner of the fishing tournament. Dave fired a few rounds of the .40 and the .45 caliber pistols. He hit the target over 90% of the time. Great Job DAVE!!! Steve Shaw fired the .22 with the laser scope. Right on target amost everytime. The .40 caliber had a kick and steve missed most of the targets. He finished up with the .22 rifle. "I really loved shooting the rifle. I put the target in the cross hairs and fired. 5 out of 5 on target.
Lee put on a demonstration of competition shooting. Lee is quite skilled at shooting and is considering some competions this fall. Good luck Lee.
After Lee did the demostration, he fired off 10 rounds and nailed the targets each time. Susan heard the shots all the way on the lake miles away. I think Lee scared off the fish this morning. 4 fish from Susan will hardly feed this hungry team.
As the morning winds down, the team needs to head back to the office and finalize the webinar series and a few other projects it is working on.
The strategy sessions last until Sunday. Steve and Dave are off to Denver to work at a Chrysler Jeep Dealership. We will all be looking forward to the next trip back to nature here in Alabama this fall. Hopefully Mark Erickson can break away from his busy in-dealership schedule and join the team for fall planning. By the way, Happy Birthday to Mark on Thursday. Happy Birthday to Lee on Saturday. Surprisingly they both re-turn 39 again...
