SLAMMED with unethical, lying Vendors: AutoRev as an example

I am so frustrated and fed up with vendors who contact me to sell their products... Why, even God Himself couldn't produce such magic as these guys.  He could create the world, but not a web site!

Today I received - this is NOT a page snapshot, just an excerpt, from AUTOREV.  NO, my website is NOT DOWN nor has it ever been down in the 4.5 years I've maintained it.  Can't these guys just be honest - "I'm a sales rep from AutoRev and I want to tell you about our great website program...sit down as it's going to knock your socks off!"  DO NOT TELL ME MY WEBSITE IS DOWN AND YOU CAN GET IT BACK UP FOR ME 'immediately'  And what's this about CARS FOR SALE?  I didn't waste anymore of my time reading it.  I swear I'm going to change my email address with a message:  NO FORWARDING ADDRESS AVAILABLE.   Here's my sales pitch from AutoRev..........

Your website is down, and we can get you back up!

VIDEO - Cars For Sale classified syndication

Your website has been down for a few hours now... and don't you find it interesting that Cars For Sale put all their efforts into getting their classified site up before your site?

Call us now at 888-311-7386 and we can get you back up and running almost immediately!

Even better, we're running a special this month - you can get 4 months of AutoRevo service for a single payment of just $99!

Pandora's box has been opened and the more I think about it, the more I have to add to this conversation about AutoRevo, CarsForSale, FREE classifieds and more.  Jim, I'm glad you watched AutoRevo's video.  I have now, but didn't earlier.  I was too 'put off' by their tactics to listen to or read anything else.  Now that I've been there, I find it so ironic that they attempt to sell you the hottest web site on the planet and yet their own site is anything BUT appealing.  However, for those still interested in this topic, I'll be back tomorrow and give you a bit more than my 2-cents worth.  I'm going to go listen to Manny's serenading once more and call it a night - after an extremely long day.  STAY TUNED.........

Happens all the time ... you can't trust these sites that use your inventory and also take revenues from their own customers... of course they're marketing to that customer after the lead was served up.

Wow Jim, that's DIRTY.

Once your inventory is on these sites, even after you were served the original lead your inventory generated, they continue to aggressively market to your customer you paid vendor number one for when you thought it was an exclusive lead.

I watched this video and it is absolutely counter-productive to everything a dealership should be doing. He talks about the FREE Classified sites and says they'll place your inventory there.

You don't want your inventory all over the web... Free Classified Sites, my butt. These are the little pirate websites and bandit websites that use your inventory and then divert your customers to other places and other dealerships after your inventory baited them in. They do more to export your business elsewhere than they create. Deceptive double-talk.

Wow, Cherie, remind me not to mess with you too. This is something the industry needs to see and hear. JIM
