SLAMMED with unethical, lying Vendors: AutoRev as an example

I am so frustrated and fed up with vendors who contact me to sell their products... Why, even God Himself couldn't produce such magic as these guys.  He could create the world, but not a web site! 

Today I received - this is NOT a page snapshot, just an excerpt, from AUTOREV.  NO, my website is NOT DOWN nor has it ever been down in the 4.5 years I've maintained it.  Can't these guys just be honest - "I'm a sales rep from AutoRev and I want to tell you about our great website program...sit down as it's going to knock your socks off!"  DO NOT TELL ME MY WEBSITE IS DOWN AND YOU CAN GET IT BACK UP FOR ME 'immediately'  And what's this about CARS FOR SALE?  I didn't waste anymore of my time reading it.  I swear I'm going to change my email address with a message:  NO FORWARDING ADDRESS AVAILABLE.   Here's my sales pitch from AutoRev..........

Your website is down, and we can get you back up!

Manny, I love that video!  Jim Ziegler, I agree that lead providers are in trouble.  Customers are finding they can eliminate the middleman and go straight to the source.  The key is to be where they can find you and to be square.  Thank you!  As far as vendors being misleading?  Nothing new.  I've written about this and vendor arrogance in the past.  No wonder they are becoming irrelevant

Jim, they are creating specialized filtering systems for what you've explained. There's not doubt, it's somewhat of a problem.

Regardless, it appears the lead provider model is in deep trouble and might be going the way of the DoDo Bird. I predict CRM Companies will now aggressively work to develop tools for dealers to create their own leads.

You should hold your vendors accountable, regardless of whom they are, including us.
