Save $300,000 On Your Dealership Website!

Sorry for the the sensationalist title but the fact of the matter is dealerships are getting fleeced on their websites. We took a realistic look at what dealerships spend over a five year period on their websites. So many dealerships are afraid to take control of their own website. It really is quite easy when you have the website built using an open source content management system. You can still display inventory easily, update specials and so much more. The video below explains a little more about our thoughts and you can read the full post on dealership websites on our website as well as read about our dealership marketing solutions.

nice plug :) but your right there are better options out there other than the big 5 or 6...I have done a couple sites and never really exceeded 5K in hard costs...I guess it depends what you are charging for your time. Not knowing anything about your product, its at least good to know there are affordable options out there.

I agree with your conclusion that many of these systems are far to overly priced and do not provide nearly enough to justify such an expense. That being said the cost to produce (both in actual dollars and in time spent) a complete website system in house would rapidly go past the $10,000 mark you stated. There are companies (such as my company that provides a complete turnkey system for dealerships at $299 per year, no monthly or other hidden fees. Over a five year term that is only $1495 ($8505 less than the $10k figure).

Aside from this I do completely agree with you that the money saved is much better spent on advertising and marketing consultation from companies such as you.

what issues did I fail to address? The API? I do have the full post listed, I don't want to put my full post all over the web as duplicate content. The link I do have does go to the full post I am confused as to what you mean. I am not really advertising anything, our offering isn't in web design, it never has been nor was it in this post, I think you misunderstood the point. Our core skills are in SEO & PPC not in web design...I suppose I could add a blog link inside the blog...not what regards do you think my site can improve? Certainly open to an outside opinion.

Interesting proposition, not sure I agree as there are a lot of major issues you don't really address. However, just a friendly FYI, if you are directing people to read the full post on your site, I'd suggest not only have the full post listed, but also it would be nice to navigate within the blog section and read all of the postings. For a company advertising themselves as a cost-savings alternative to the other big web vendors out there, your web site should be your calling card. Since your site is not well built in regards to layout and navigation I'd have a hard time, as a dealer, taking a leap of faith that you'd help me build a good website.

Just my two cents. Good luck in your endeavors.
