Much of what happens behind the scenes in search engine optimization is shrouded in mystery and secret sauces, but there's one area that is extremely tangible: Results. The goal is to sell more cars. To sell more cars, you need more leads. To get more leads, you need more traffic. SEO can provide that traffic and demonstrating results should be easy for an automotive SEO vendor.
There are only a few vendors that I know who truly deliver results and provide multiple examples to their prospects. Every vendor has a few examples that they normally show. As a dealer, it's your responsibility to ask for more. Go beyond the ones they have on "standby". Make them dig deep into the well to find 5 or 10 different dealers where their SEO efforts resulted in keyword victories for challenging keywords.
