PCG Consulting White Paper released addressing Google + Local Reviews

The team at PCG Consulting, Inc. has always been one to share relevant information regarding issues that affect dealerships. We have been writing and teaching about the importance of your online reputation and ways to not only grow your presence but to market it as well over the past few years.


Due to the many changes with the switch to Google+ Local we have seen and heard many issues that dealers have been facing and because of this Brian Pasch and the PCG Consulting team have been working on this white paper over the past few days to give dealers a revised Google reviews strategy.

Okay, apparently I am missing something, or I didn't get the memo, or there is another thread out there saying "great work Brian" If there is not; then, great work Brian!

Much of what you've written has been hypothesized and prophesied leading up to this event, so there really should be no surprise. 

The usual suspects, (google, yelp, Facebook, twitter, etc.) all face the same issue when assessing the value of their UGA (User Generated Assets), which is validity! (and yes, I may have just coined a new phrase). Expect more "filtering" across the board as these entities find more effective ways to ferret out fake followers, fake likers, and fake reviews. Here is proof that FB is already leaning that way. . I question the "1%" number quoted in the article. I think it is higher. Nobody should be surprised to see this happening now. Content is an asset for these companies. They are going to do all they can to insure its integrity.

Although this is something all businesses should worry about, it is not near as bad as it could be. We already know social is a growing part of search performance. Imagine what would happen when google figures out how to determine which businesses have fake likers and followers then punishes that business in search. Pro Tip: if I've thought of it, chances are there is someone at Google already working on it!
