Professional Community for Car Dealers, Automotive Marketers and Sales Managers
As a confirmed car-guy (sorry, car-person just doesn’t have the cred), I am fairly opinionated when it comes to automotive design, and at the same time recognize that vehicles often look much better in person than in launch photos. Reference the new Mustang that I enjoyed much more in person than photos, or the Panamera that’s at least less ugly in person. BUT this new Jeep replacement for the Liberty, with a revived Cherokee nameplate, breaks new ground in the ugly department, and I don’t think I will like it much more in person – IMHO, of course.
Sure, the new Pentastar drivetrain should give it a massive boost of refinement, and it could make it to production this spring with a ground-breaking ZF 9-speed (yes, NINE cogs) automatic transmission, but even if you slap a Bentley or Rolls-Royce interior in it, this new Fiat-Jeep seems like it will be just as ugly in person. What do you think?
