After working as a Sales Professional for a number of years before getting promoted to an Internet Manager, I had the pleasure to experience both ends of the sales and felt a definite difference in the type of people you deal with along with a difference in processes as well. This experience gave me an idea that can benefit the average Sales Professional on the floor, the dealership and the Internet department. A dealers website traffic usually is not an issue its the conversion rate of traffic to sales that we all try to accomplish. What I have done is created a way using Micro sites, Weblets or mini sites for the Sales Professional. These sites are personal websites that can be linked to the Primary Website but are maintained by the sales professional himself. They have their own domain or sub-domain but allows the consumer to get familiar and comfortable with the sales professional. I felt when a consumer visited a website they felt the same as they did visiting another dealership website, although the sites set-up might be different and even flashy they still think of it as a dealerships way of getting them to enter their information to create a trackable lead for Internet Department to contact. The microsite will allow them to take a baby step into the beginning of the process with a very base and easy to navigate website listing vehicles with custom comments from that sales professional. If it is maintained properly the consumer will eventually visit the link on the site or email the sales professional which in turn can refer them to more inventory on the primary site creating the trackable lead. There is a ton of advantages to this system. The cost is very low initial set-up is below $200 and monthly maintenance fee below $50 depending on how advanced the sales professional wants to go. Visit my website at www.AutomotiveInternetConsult.com I have examples of the sites there, it is still under construction so excuse any misspelling and sentence fractures. Keep in mind this is a untapped idea so I expect a few obstacles, but any feedback would be appreciated.
