After ringing the opening bell for Friday's (Oct. 17) trading session of the New York Stock Exchange, THE MIGHTY MACS moved home to Philadelphia for the Red Carpet Premier - and the event of the year in the City of Brotherly Love! Archbishop Charles Chaput and Mayor Michael Nutter joined more than 2,000 others to pack The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts to cheer on the story of the first Cinderella team in women's college basketball.

"Friday night I attended the premiere of THE MIGHTY MACS, which tells the story of Immaculata College's improbable road to national fame in women's basketball," Archbishop Chaput said. "I was welcomed on the red carpet by writer and director Tim Chambers of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. This story of story of faith and determination is inspirational. The family friendly film reminds us of the power of believing that we can achieve against seemingly insurmountable odds."

Many of the original Mighty Macs joined coach Cathy Rush, Director Tim Chambers and the cast for the premier, which was followed by a "'70s Disco" celebration.
