Good Morning Everyone,
I just submitted this as a Letter to the Editor at my local newspaper but I thought I'd also share the story here! It made me so proud to work in the Automotive Industry alongside such wonderful professionals.
My 81 grandmother is the type of senior that constantly impresses people. To say she is independent would be an understatement. At 81 she is on Facebook, regularly Instant Messages me, and just a few weeks ago I arrived to her apartment where she asked me to help unload her "urban rebounder". That's right, the round exercise equipment you jump on.
Yet even this spry 81 year old had a moment where she was in need. She was on her way to a dentist's appointment and was unable to find the address. The entire incident was quite upsetting and she finally pulled into Rose City Ford to ask for help.
Not only was she met with an abundance of concern but she explained to me the owner and the manager jumped to her rescue. The owner suggested the manager take her car and drive her to the appointment and the owner would follow in his car to bring him back.
I called to say thank-you and even the receptionist knew of the situation and asked after my grandmother. My grandmother comes from a generation where calling on one's neighbours and businesses for help was common place. In today's hectic lifestyle this gentlemanly act of kindness touched my entire family's heart during this Christmas season.
To the staff at Rose City Ford thank-you for taking the time out of your day to help our grandmother! It is wonderful to know that this type of old-fashioned concern still exists and I believe it is just another example of what makes our community extremely special.
