When times get tough we need to push the envelope of positive thinking even higher. Just working a few deals these days can get you down. The credit scores are getting worse(have you seen this). The vehicle of interest is getting older and cheaper. And the dealers are getting nervous, again. Popping in your favorite Car guru in the CD player is always a must for me to keep things in a better perspective. I have a lot of good old stuff and some newer things I pull off of the podcasts. Some of my favorites are Grant Cardone recordings that really get you back to the basics on your thinking. You know some stuff just seems a little too old car but Grant has a way of transcending the times. I just kinda like the guy. Reading and going through Jim Zieglers writings and posts are always enlightening. He’s a funny dude and DA-Man for sure. I like it when he has the drink thing going on. If your into reading, Ralph can get your educating going very nicely (ADM). His posts are always a mind twister for me, plus he has great posting of power points and graphs that I always pull off and use. I just wish he would get a Mac, anyway. Sometimes I look at his stuff and wonder how he could have amassed such a volume of spot on wisdom, wow. And the best part he is all ours to use and abuse as we like(well almost). Todays follow up post he wrote was a real look into Ralph and family and was a look in the mirror myself. Although knowing Ralph, he probably did that on purpose.
We give so much time and energy to this business, and recently we haven’t been getting our share back sometimes. But it is hard all over. We tend, of course , to look at ourselves and why we have a hard time now. Well, wouldn’t you like to be a mortgage broker or Real Estate agent. Or maybe work as a manager at Circuit City, Citi(or any bank). Special finance would be a good place to get started at last year. When you think about it, you could go down a long list of very bad businesses, not just companies, to hang your hat.
When I look at this year so far, I have done well. Actually I am right in their. I do work harder than any one I am around, but you know, that doesn’t say much most the time. That’s why I think we need to, as professionals, look to Grant, Jim, Ralph, Chris, Stan, Joe, Kim, Jeff, Gilbert, Brian P, Matt, Tim, to get some focus on a real end-zone. And look for positives that are all around us. Can you imagine living in a better time than now. What a huge opportunity we have as Automotive Professionals to make a difference. I really believe it is a fine time to get your game on. So lets focus hard now. Hopefully it’s midnight or later on this recession gig. Even if it’s not - keep giving us what we need boys and girls. I can’t get enough!
