Is Stan Sher the greatest social networking marketer in the business?

I thought this would be a fun topic for a blog. And I have a feeling Stan will be one of the first to respond to it as he does to most other postings. That is why I asked myself "Is Stan Sher the greatest social networking marketer in the business?"
Many of you reading this know exactly who I am talking about. Stan Sher - who appeared out of the depths of nowhere to take over the social networking sites shared by automotive professionals everyone. Most of you have him as a friend and read his endless comments and updates to blogs and topics daily.
I know you likely have him as your friend because he has 413 friends on ADM alone. In comparison, Jim Ziegler has 182, David Kain has 71, and I have 90.
Now, obviously we know that your amount of friends usually doesn't equal popularity, but Stan's inundation of these sites has caused him to be recognized. In just a few short months, Stan Sher has made himself known to the automotive e-Commerce world in amazing fashion. Power players throughout the industry know him and has seen his face. While Jim Ziegler spoke at NADA and presented images of networking sites, Stan's pic was there front and center.
At NADA, through just the self-marketing of himself, Stan was able to befriend myself and others as well as rub shoulders and converse with those very same people he had made an impression on online. He was able to join inner circles reserved for true internet experts and online pioneers solely through the introduction of himself on sites such as these.
So if some of the figureheads of major automotive companies are aware of Stan...
if Presidents, Owners, CEO's, Consultants, National Sales Directors, etc all are familiar with Stan...
if an indelible impression was made on you that met him (regardless of how he presented himself), I ask again...
Is Stan Sher the greatest social networking marketer in the business?

Sure, it depends on your goal. Many have the goal of selling cars on social networking sites and some succeed. But if Stan's goal was to make himself known, through ADM, Facebook, Myspace, DrivingSales, etc, and he achieved his goal, one must contend that he is a social networking master, am I right?

Yes, many of you will scoff at this blog. Many will start laughing and some may even get upset. However, give credit where credit is due. You heard of him. You've seen his comments. You've met him, possibly. You've shared emails or ideas. You know Stan Sher. Pretty impressive, don't you think?

Good one, Jim. And he surprisingly won every track meet because he would position his brothers farther along the track. As soon as he was out of sight due to an obstruction or bleachers, the others would jump in, well-rested) and continue on to victory.
Or his immersion into online culture has allowed him to teleport himself instantly to different locales.

Stan was at my NADA Seminar/Workshop front row center...truthfully I recently found out that Stan is actually four brothers. They are identical quadrulets, that is how he seems to be everywhere. His entire life he has masqueraded as being one person. None of his girlfriends in high school, nor his teachers nor his employers were aware...he only had to attend class every fourth day. JIM

Personally, I believe it "happens" in 2013 based on the ancient Mayan calendar predictions... Just watch what happens, remember Y2K? Well, 2013 (maybe 2012?) is going to be worse!!! I am just glad i can call Stan a friend so that when he DOES rule the world I can ask him for Kauai... Yup, just give me that little speck of dirt and rock out there in the Pacific, and I will do ADM on a full time basis, promoting the networking technology and culture that helped put Stan in charge of the world... He can come visit any time he wants! We'll have the full visiting royalty treatment, hula dancers, fire swallowers, big Luau with a couple of god damned huge pigs roasted in a put... AND, because I know Stan is cool and will support the mandate, I will rule Kauai with a plan to gradually transition the culture back to the ancient Hawaiian ways, blended with networking technology and culture... A perfect match! We'll give Stan his prototype model to transfer and propogate to the rest of the world.

All because I met Stan Sher on ADM... Now that's what I call the big payoff from professional/social networking!

Ralph, much like dealers of the late 90's, I am sure there will be a resistance-movement against the Stan Sher assimilation. As you know, though, those that surround themselves with technology will last and those that don't won't. Think of it this way - I've heard myspace deletes unused accounts after 6 months or so, maybe a year. Let's say there is a severe, worldwide natural disaster similar to the 2012 theory. Those band of survivors will look to the remaining infrastructure of the worldwide web to reach other survivors through social networking sites. After 6 months, hundreds of thousands of accounts will be deleted and people will regroup through the power of facebook. Social Networking saves the world and Stan Sher is the new leader.
Yes, this is all said tongue in cheek - I'm really just trying to test out an idea for a movie. But I'm not going to be the one to scoff at the power of social networking. I'm using Stan as an example of the power the internet's reach has provided us.

Wow... And all along I just thought Stan Sher was a nice sociable car guy... I guess i never realized the "borg effect" he was using to assimilate everyone online! OMG, are we all soon to start turning into Stan Sher clones?!?!? Will babies coming into this world soon start to all be Stan Sher look-alikes?!?!?! Will Stan Sher run against Obama in 2012 and take him out?!?!? THIS MAN IS EVERYWHERE..... Honey, bar the doors and lock the children in the cellar!
