Marty Garvey, Thanks for weighing in and posting your observation. I agree, there is no doubt that Google has "forced march" the creation of many Google+ account profiles... Yet, this is still Google and it is difficult to be in the online marketing business without paying attention to what Google puts weight on from a ranking and authority perspective that impacts SERP positioning and what they consider to be the most valid social signals and content posts... It is obvious from much of the research being done from an SEO perspective that Google+ is a necessary and vital ingredient to any dealer's Search Engine Optimization strategy.

With that said, learning how to drive more customer engagement which should be the PRIMARY use of any social network will help add value to the time and energy it takes to manage contant posts on yet another user generated content based "social network". In many ways, I think the whole point of this infographic is to take what is being used as an SEO task and try to make it more interactive, thereby more "social" than what we may have experienced to this point. Alexander Lau is correct in categorizing Google+ as a publishing tool along with the somewhat generic "social network" designation.

@Marty. Google+ isn't just a social network. It's a publishing tool, as well. There are a load of options connected through Google+, such as being able to control your Local / Places credentials. One tool to rule all of your Google Apps. It's extremely important for SEO as well. Obviously, Google controls their own algorithmic rules, hence using Google Authorship / Publisher options is a smart way to gain authority on a subject, such as, let's say "Automotive."

Or specifically 'Automotive+Paid+Search', which I rank #2 in the world for @ https://www.google.com/search?q=automotive+paid+search, while DealerFire, NakedLime and Dealer.com pay for it. Ha ha! *Couch, who said WordPress Tags don't work. I believe someone in these waters. he he ;-)

I'm not so sure about all those Google+ users. I'm registered on Google+ because I use a spreadsheet housed in Google drive, and I can't leave a Google review without it. But I don't use the social media aspect of Google+, and I don't know anyone who does.
