Increase Traffic and Sales Using Vehicle Inventory on Social Networks

Vehicle inventory matters, website traffic is highly important, and selling cars is the number one goal, but how do you insert the cars you sell into the content you share on your social networks and receive results?

It comes down to sharing what you already know and sharing the inventory on your dealerships website, creatively and socially.

When wanting to share your inventory online, use the vehicles you have listed on your website and/or take photographs of vehicles on your lot to increase traffic.

Increase Website Traffic Using Website Inventory:

First, go to your website, choose a vehicle that is either on sale, has a cool color, or unique name, and use this to your advantage. Be sure NOT to add the price, instead, add the link to the Chevrolet Spark located on your website to increase website traffic. It is also a very good idea to use a URL shortener, like, so that your audience is not distracted by a giant link, rather, they become interested in clicking on the link that will take them to your website. Also, make sure the photos you choose from your website to display inventory pieces on your social networks, are clear and not at all distorted.

Here are some examples, using the Chevrolet Spark, that will create buzz about the vehicle and give incentive for people to click on the inventory links you share, which will increase website traffic.

Example 1: Use the Price of the vehicle – Creatively.

“The only thing Blue about this Chevrolet Spark is the color, for it’s definitely not the price!” (Add shortened website link here)

Then upload/add Vehicle Photo to the text.

Example 2: Use the vehicle’s unique name – Socially.

“Add a little spark to your neighborhood like never before with a Blue and ever so awesome, Chevrolet Spark” (Add shortened website link here)

Then upload/add Vehicle Photo to the text.

Increase Foot Traffic to Your Dealership Using Inventory Photographs Taken At the Dealership:

If you want to be more creative with the inventory photos to go with your creative text, then take photographs of vehicles on your lot. This does take a bit more time than using images from your website, but not as much time as you might think.

It is a good idea to show new arrivals and vehicles with promotional sales from your lot. Here are a few helpful ways of taking photographs of inventory at your dealership.

Take Inventory photographs that:

  • Have the license plate with your dealership’s name on the vehicle.
  • Show the exterior AND interior of vehicles.
  • Show off the vehicle’s unique features.
  • Highlight the sides, front, and back of the vehicle.
  • Show the vehicle in multiple colors. Line them up together on the lot and photograph them.

These are just a few examples and hopefully, they have made the creative juices start to flow. Keep in mind to be creative and social with the text and to be mindful of the types of vehicle inventory photographs you choose to use. Post inventory pieces once or twice a week, at most, to get the best results.

Take the time to add inventory pieces from your website or photos you have taken at the dealership and start to see your traffic rise, inventory views increase and ultimately, your vehicle sales improve!
