How to set your dealership apart (in a good way!)

This is a four-step guide to help you improve your reputation and raise your conversation rate.

Step 1, Customer Service

The old adage that treat customers as you would like to be treated has never been more important than in the digital age. Firstly, review all aspects of the customer buying process where they have contact with your business and ensure that the messages are professional and informative at all times.

Step 2, Set Accurate Expectations

In all contact with clients, confirm let them know what is happening when it will happen and keep them informed of progress. That way, everyone knows where they stand, and you will meet your customers expectations. Remember it is better to under promise and overdeliver.

Step 3, Collect positive reviews

In the age of the digital world, most buyers will google a supplier before deciding to buy from them. The information that they find online will influence their decision-making process. So to improve your conversion rate you need to gather genuine reviews recommending your service. To ensure that they are considered real I recommend using an independent review gathering and publishing service such as Trustpilot.com.

You can automate the feedback requests or send out review requests as soon as a client advises that they are pleased with the service delivered. Ask for the reviews, you will be surprised how many clients are happy to give them.

Step 4, Promote your good reviews

Work hard to provide the best service and value that you can. Doing this will result in clients loving your business and being willing to recommend it. Once you have your good reviews publish them on your website, also on your social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Promotion will ensure that there are multiple sites with positive information about your services.

Use them where appropriate, for example if you sell multiple niches of vehicles show reviews in the correct brochures. For example if you sell commercial vehicles display reviews next to them from other similar commercial clients such as courier or taxi firms.

By carefully using your good review scores and recommendations, they will act as a higher authority influencer and improve your conversion rate, and even raise the level of enquiries that come through from the web. So that if your potential client is considering which supplier to buy from, your reputation can be the factor that swings the order in your direction. So ensure that it is as strong as possible and that all your potential clients know that you are better than the competition.
