How to Improve Your Website Sales Strategy

A business lives and dies by its sales, particularly in the automotive industry.

Due to the fact that each car carries such a large value, having vehicles stuck on the forecourt for weeks and months on end can hugely hamper you business’s cash flow, causing significant issues.

Thanks to the rise of the internet, selling cars is simpler than ever before, as people from all across the country can see what you have in stock, arrange visits and even see what the car looks like and all of its vital details. With the internet being so important to sales, in this post we go through how you can improve your website sales strategy.

  

Images

All of your car descriptions should be accompanied by images of both the inside and the outside of the veh.... The vehicle should have recently been washed and valeted and (if possible), you should take the pictures on a sunny day.

These will help prospective buyers be able to make an informed decision about the vehicle and what it looks like so they can decide whether it’s right for them. It should help your vehicles stand out in a crowded market, making buyers more likely to visit and test drive.

   

Detailed Descriptions

As well as exterior and interior images, you should include a detailed description of the car. This can largely be done in bullet points. It should include:

-          Mileage

-          Age

-          Number of owners

-          Level of service history (none, partial or full)

-          Fuel type

-          Colour

-          Warranty

-          MOT expiry date

-          Number of owners

-          Number of doors

All of this data will help your customers directly compare cars, helping inform their decision about whether to buy the vehicle. It also makes your business appear more reputable, trustworthy and knowledgeable.

 

Opt for a Clean Layout

Although you need detailed listings, you also need to ensure that the layout of your site is clean, with plenty of white space, much like this car supermarket has.

A simple and logical layout with plenty of white space will ensure that potential customers are not overwhelmed with information, causing them to look elsewhere. By keeping the site simple and clean you can ensure that customers have access to all the main information without impairment. They can always ring or visit you if they need more.

   

Allow People to Enquire/ Book Online

The internet is a great starting point for people who are interested in buying cars but remember that a lot of people will be using your site out of office hours.

As such, on each listing, you should add separate buttons or forms so that people can make an official enquiry about the vehicle or book a test drive. This way, you can respond as soon as you make it to the office the next day.

If your site doesn’t have this functionality, ensure that you have an email address on each listing so that people can contact you. You should also include a phone number that has a voicemail so people can leave messages.
