80% of prospects are checking reviews before they even consider making a purchase according to the Ipsos Open Thinking Exchange (OTX). By now, most dealerships are aware of the negative affect too few positive reviews can have, but most are still not proactive enough about managing their online reputation.
For instance, the dealership listed above has several negative reviews about the sales experience, but none of them have responses to show that an effort was made to either diffuse the situation or at least apologize. Furthermore, the negative reviews out way the positive one, so in short: this dealership is literally turning customers away.
