How to Create Your Dealership Google+ Page (properly) in Under 5 Minutes

It's been nearly 3 weeks since the launch of Google+ Business Pages and the response has been stronger than I expected. Unlike Facebook and other social networks that saw dealers sprinkling in over long periods of time, Google+ is getting adopted quickly and dealers are embracing it nicely.

There are ways of doing it wrong and one way to do it right. Attaching it to your Google Places page is what we consider the "right" way of doing it because the ability to network directly through the search results is a key to success, a "protip" so to speak. As they appear prominently in searches, Google+ business pages are becoming an important part of your SEO, social media, and reputation management toolkit.

For anyone that has not set-up a Google+ Page at all, to create your first page you must click on the "Create a Google + Page" icon on the right hand side of the your Google + Page.

Please take a look at the screen shot below as an example

Also, if you are looking for some good examples of what to post take a look at our Google + Page Here. We are already following over 450 dealerships and we select the top 10 every week as an example.

Gavin -

9 Months of website development time?

I would really like to see your sites once they go live, you must have really built a solution that is tailored just to you. Please post the site one ADM when its up, I'm sure that everyone would be interested in seeing a truly unique website!

The timing of your video was perfect! After 9 months of website building our new site goes live in 4 days. I have just sent the the page code to our web site provider after adding the business page. Thanks again from across the pond!

Adam Ross - Promoting our Google+ pages is going to be a long, boring, but useful article in the very near future. It's definitely harder than getting Likes on Facebook, but it will be worthwhile and is definitely doable.

Ralph Paglia - Sounds like a perfect plan. I can definitely end that particular debate about SEO value... but I'll save that answer for the webinar.

Steve Bergamo - Welcome to ADM! I'm honored that my video was the first place you posted. Hopefully, we'll see you posting in a lot more threads.

Thanks for the video tutorial.  I thought I had our page up and running but missed a few key items.  This helped me go back through and get everything set as it should be.  This is my first post on ADM and I look forward to many more in the future.

JD - That would be a lot of fun, and very informative for the dealers that attend... Let me warn you up front that Daymond and I hang out a lot and we argue about the best ways for car dealers to use Google+ all the time!  For example, I like assigning a URL that is easy to remember that points to a dealer's Google+ Page (go figure) and he believes that it hurts the SEO value of the page (I say nonsense!).  LOL, anyways, a good debate is sometimes useful in presenting multiple facets on any issue.

Daymond Decker - Are you paying attention? Maybe if you didn't spend 8 hours a day inside various Google+ Huddles, you would have seen this thread!

Ralph, let's talk. We should put together a Google+ best practices webinar. Maybe bring in Daymond Decker?

I've created a few pages - good article JD! But I've found that getting people in your circles to add those pages to their circles is a bit of a pain... It's diffucult for them to find it through the feed.

Having done this yesterday (again) I can assure everyone who watches this clip from JD Rucker that it really is this easy... Watch the clip, then get it done!
