How digital signage can help your business

In times where technology is all among us, where the internet has taken a whole lot of advertising space and become the No. 1 medium for advertising, there are still some older, let’s say traditional ways to advertise. When I say „older, traditional ways“, I think of TV, Radio, Newspapers. Offcourse, advertising via digital signage is surely one of them.

Almost every business needs to advertise, either to promote a brand, a product or raise awareness, advertising is crucial in order to succeed, convert and make a profit. Therefore businesses must find the right channel for advertising that will bring the most profit for the lowest amount of money invested.

What is digital signage?

Surely, you are already pretty familiar with this one but let’s just put it out there.

In short, digital signage represents a solution that delivers timely information.

If we go a little deeper, we can say that digital signage is actually a broad term that refers to a network of centrally controlled digital displays – for example, that would be an LED monitor or a touch screen on a project display. And it can be found in a variety of places. In malls, cinemas, airport or train stations, basically anywhere where there is a high density of people passing every day.

And it’s actually a way of advertising that is making a lot of profit yearly. Some data have shown that back in 2016. digital signage industry made a profit of 19.6 billion USD, while some analytics even suggest that in the year 2032, digital signage is expected to reach a profit of more than 32 billion USD.

Now that we have covered what digital signage is and how big of an industry it actually is, let’s dive in and see how this type of advertising can help one business grow.


1.   Use Digital Signage in Advertising

As we said in the beginning of the article, digital signage is a great way for a business to advertise. It’s a great way to engage customers and grab their attention. Catch potential costumer's eye with images and video where you can change the signage screens and with that you can actually say whatever you like on a change of a button.


2.   Educate with Digital Signage

Once you have lured your customers in your store, you now have the opportunity to educate them about your products through digital signage. You can:

  • Showcase your products putting your businesses best, most popular or most valuable products in front and center simply by featuring them on a digital sign. This sign can point out the best feature of that product or simply give the customer information about the promotion that is currently available (example information that product is on sale).
  • Display product demos. This way you can show a product in action (example a car showcase in a car salon) or create an infomercial. This would be a great tactic for products that offer visual results or are new on the market.
  • Share news about your brand. Digital signage can be easily used to share news, updates and for example policy changes with your customers. It can feature info about the rewards that a business or a product, but any other kind of info from that industry can be shown as well.


3.   Digital Signage can enhance brand image

Digital signs can not only disseminate information about business but can elevate brand image as well. Using high-quality displays it can stimulate the sense of respect and reliability. People are generally more willing to pay for products and services that offer the latest amenities. Using digital signage automatically brings a premium badge to most businesses around town.

4.   Advertises other channels of promotion as well

As digital systems are easily accessible to change the content that is being displayed business can promote their social channels too. It can help raise awareness of the business online presence and also encourage social engagement. A great example of this is the live Twitter walls. This type of digital signage is often seen at the events and work extremely well to promote a brand and get people talking about one’s business.


5.   Helps business measure data

Digital signage can be a very effective way to collect information about the business audience and market. Tools such as heat maps on a touchscreen can give us info about where users are typing on a screen. That can further tell us what type of content are users most interested too but also which areas of content may need improvement. Another kind of measurement can also show us how long an interactive display is being used. But most importantly it can show us whether the information that is provided is increasing sales.



There are a whole lot of ways digital signage can benefit your business. From easy maintenance and alterations of content advertised, through raising brand awareness and product advertising to providing you valuable data collection about your customers intent and needs.

Although the internet has taken a lot of advertising space, many experts predict that digital signage industry will have an increase in value and businesses should definitely think about finding a digital signage solution that will help them reach customers and help their businesses grow.
