Going Beyond OEM Website Approved Solutions

There's at least one angry car dealer that is fed up with OEM-mandated website companies. Approved website vendors help maintain the manufacturer's brand integrity and uniformity, but where does that leave you?

While the officially-mandated approach can be quite efficient, many dealers often find themselves wanting more than the generic, one-size-fits-all websites provided for them. Dealers who want custom-tailored online marketing solutions can find it incredibly beneficial to work directly with an independent internet marketing and web design company.

Independent web marketing companies have specialized methods, technology, and expertise to give car dealers custom-designed websites, complete with unique branding and an individualized marketing strategy. A complete solution can provide you with search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) services, increased inventory exposure with services like Facebook and Craigslist marketing, and mobile websites.

By partnering directly with an online marketing provider, dealers get direct access to the advanced tools that just aren’t available from their corporate approved website. You will be able to gain access to in-depth usage statistics and take control of your online presence. This hands-on approach offers car dealers a true marketing solution, not just a website.

Thanks for the input Tom!

That's exactly why OEM-mandated websites are bad for the individual dealer.  They don't give the website company a lot of incentive to improve their product line. (Less competition means you get an inferior product. ) That's why many dealers who do have OEM-mandated websites have a second website that has all the bells and whistles the dealership desires.

Having a non OEM- mandated website would help sales and allow dealers to have choices, like Autofusion, that can substantially differentiate their online presence and customer ease of use.

Bingo!  How do you differentiate yourself if the OEM makes you all wear the same gray suits?  At that point, the only way to stand out is the lowest non-profit price.  Of course the OEM still makes a profit...
