Google Analytics is probably one of the best free apps out there. is another which is a free search engine for cars for sale posted across the Web --- one search for all cars but I'm biased since I work for them
Comment by Paul Rushing on April 8, 2009 at 7:59pm absolutely awesome for grabbing screen caps.and video

I second Ralph's Google Analytics Package... The best non biased traffic measurement tool for a dealership to use.

Google Analytics has got to be one of the top ten free applications when it comes to usefullness, quality and ongoing updates. The Benchmarking Reports are a great way to compare your dealership's website to others.

"Improve your online results
Learn more about where your visitors come from and how they interact with your site. You'll get the information you need to write better ads, strengthen your marketing initiatives, and create higher-converting websites. Learn more about the benefits. Google Analytics is free to everyone, whether you are an advertiser, publisher, or site owner."

Although Omniture SiteCatalyst is far more customizable, in some ways more accurate and has many more capabilities, Google Analytics is a damn fine package for free software! Here's a screen capture showing a Google Analytics "Dashboard" reporting example:
