Extinction is Majority + Existence is Minority


Quite the poetic title, no? I know this is going to sound esoteric or existential to some degree, but hear me out.

Let's look at any type of business as if it were a living entity; like yourself, the dinosaurs, or even existence itself in the Universe. (I know, I know, that is... some...comparison.)

It's a statistical miracle for the sheer fact that I am able to sit here and write this blog that you are reading now. I mean what are the odds for this instance of occuring? The way the Universe is currently understood and constructed is really NOT conducive for life. Life should not exist, but it bizarrely does on such a fragile tightrope. For intelligent life to exist (as far as we know and experience it), there has to be light, liquid water and oxygen. Anything could destroy our planet from the far reaches of space. Hell, the dinosaurs roamed the Earth for how many Millions of years until an asteroid plummeted down and ended their existence...in a heartbeat. (astronomically speaking)

Congratulate yourself for winning the life lottery...heh.

The big question is, if life and the Universe are at odds with each other than how can they exist in tandem?

Answer is: ADAPTATION.

A living creature must adapt to its surroundings in order to survive. If it doesn't...well...say "goodnight gracie" to that entire species and other species that rely on that species for food or assistance and so on and so forth.

I think you know where I am going with this and if not then well here is my best attempt to bridge my somewhat esoteric and nerd-like interest in galactic cosmology, evolution and of course...business.

Any business is the same way, but unlike the dinosaurs who had absolutely no control over their own destiny, a business can adapt. A business can control its own destiny.

Many business owners are either ill advised or completely clueless as to how to evolve into the next age or phase of the Internet. By exponentially growing around the World, the Internet actually is gets smaller and smaller. Information and ideas are coming together and connecting rapidly with others. The speed of business is moving faster and faster. Internet surfers are getting smarter or at least the tools they are using are getting better at helping them attain their quest for whatever knowledge they seek.

Darwin's theory of evolution applies to all life on Earth, even businesses. And if a business is not up to speed with technology then that business will be as extinct as the Dodo bird.

The bottom line is, contemporary companies need the best technological tools to add to their arsenal to adapt. (As did cavemen, conquistadors, conquerors, and crusaders long ago.)

(wow, nice alliteration! My 8th grade teacher would be proud of me right now. heh)

What will make a business stand out from the crowded genre of Auto Dealers, Auto Buyers, or whatever widget business type you can think of?

Answer is: REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!

What if your competition has the same widget product or service that you have or do and they are down the block from you? What are the mitigating factors that will make them go to you? Advertising? Possibly. Aesthetics? Possibly. The main reason that a customer keeps coming back to your business is customer service. If you provide a great product or service, they will come back.

Now building upon that truth...

What will separate your customer service and the competition's? Excellent question!

Well...I'm sure that Live Chat isn't AS important to humanity as was the 4 row grain thingie, but HOT DANG, it's sure as heck a distant 2nd. heh!

Interesting blog article... I wonder what Zechariah Sitchin would have to say about your adaptation analogy and the disruptive aspects of introducing outside influence and "game changers", such as 4 row grains appearing shortly after the great flood, virtually overnight, skipping hundreds of years of hybridization and completely bypassing the evolutionary phase of going from single row to double row by directly going to 4 row... Saving humanity from near certain extinction at a time when arable land was 99% gone... Giving the survivors a 400% increase in crop yield per acre, and saving the lives of the few who survived the great flood.

Although I am not convinced that chat is equivalent to going from single to four row grain crops, but I do think that web enabled dealer/client engagement, in general, will separate many survivors from those that cease to operate.
