Every Time You Google an Angel Gets Its Wings

I had my "It's a Wonderful Life" George Bailey moment today:  If I wasn't around and had never been born, my dealer's OEM website vendor would have been able to sell a monster PPC campaign because she's "done one for her husband's small business" using the $100 Google Small Business PPC Gift Card they got in the mail, my dealer's Google Reviews would be adrift in a sea of shyster "review boosters", and some SEO charlatans would've sold my dealer some blogging probably sourced from the former states of the dismantled Soviet Union.  The local newspaper would be solely in operation to support the Last Dealer Printing Large Ads (mine), the dealer's main website vendor would have sold my dealer more template websites with pages that would have to look up to see the bottom of the worst SEO effort, and untrackable direct mail would still be $10k or so a quarter.  And all of this would be sold on behalf of "Old Mr. Potter", more or less, in keeping with my comparison.

However, I looked in my pocket today, and I found "Zuzu's petals" . . . and so think about this, all you professionals, and let me say "Hat's off to you all!".  You are the best and the brightest here on ADM, and I'm very proud to be a part of this, the best online community for Automotive Marketing Professionals in existence.  When I look at our roster of 5k members, I see names from those who minted this marketplace, to those who lead the way to online success like no others.  I've added both great knowledge and great friends by being here.

Thank you all:  Without you, Zuzu's petals would not be around for me.  Or my dealer.  Or, really, any successful dealer.

Now go make some Angel Wings Happen!  :)

Got you!  Love Red House!

I dig the site and your pic!!  Very cool.

I'm trying to find one of my recordings of me playing harmonica along with the guitarist and then singing a blues version of Red House.  If I find it, I'll post it on Facebook and leave these folks out of it here--it's definitely not an automotive tune.  ;)

This is the old man at our 38th band reunion of the Revelation.

PS: No.  But you can see a site I made to highlight our 38th anniversary reunion.  I'm on the far right in both pics.

Krissy doesn't play, but she does sing.  I had an entertainment company for five years, and so I know that a) there are many, many, many talented people fighting for few spots (and many more talented than me), and b) the combination of luck, talent, money, and graft needed to succeed is very rare.  I own a music publishing company, but I don't pursue anything with it.  I do this all, whatever it is, just for my own pleasure and the satisfaction that some people like it.  Glad you did--thanks!!

P.S.  Got any recordings of your work?

Keith thank you!  That is so good.  Loved the song and the music, and the pics are great.  I grew up in small-town Ohio so they resonate a bit.  I see two guitars on that stage at the end, does your wife play too?  Hmmm, I was a singer when I was younger, and you're a talented singer, songwriter.  Your wife's name is Krissy and my wife's name is Chrissy.  Now I see why we hit it off! Hehehe.  I hope you have or are planning to publish your music...

Tom, two originals of mine for you; first is instrumental and second is vocal/instrumental.  Live recordings at an open mic, and that's me on the guitar and singing.  The instrumental is full of vacation and family/heritage photos around where I grew up in Tennessee; that's Krissy my wife who is the blonde (before she was my wife!).  We visited my parents.

The other video is just for the song, but the "easter egg" at the end is if any of you want to see Keith with a pony tail.  ;)

Tom, ha!  I remember the bandaid you received.  It should be a reminder for Grant that even industry icons need to remember that good intentions don't always translate to the shortened dimensions of computer screens, even with video, but I don't know if it is.  I saw Grant in person recently, and I can say that he comes across much better in that way.  Regardless, I still vehemently agree with you, and not with him, about your point way back then.  It was mine, too, after all.  ;)

Keith, you and I met some time ago, it seems forever, when Grant Cardone gave me a bandaid.  Ouch.  But you encouraged me.  I am really grateful.  And I love your music (the words anyway, I haven't heard the tunes).  Anyway, I knew I liked you immediately.

Actually I want to thank all of you here, Keith, Ralph, Bryan, Thomas, you have in a way given me wings. In my job, we often work in the shadows, rarely getting any encouragement except when all things go right, and someone at the dealership says, "Hey, good job".

Ralph, you made me realize my beliefs and ideas were valid.  Before that, I went on faith.  I first saw your face on the magazine that is now your icon.

Anyway, you have made ADM not just a useful place to learn and interact, you have made it my recreation.  My wife might hate you, (not really) but she sees how my work is my favorite thing to do by interacting with you.

You're welcome, Ralph.  My pleasure to help!  ADM has been . . . well, something great for me, personally, not just professionally.

Bryan, thanks for your comment, too.  I love the acronym "IRL" ha!  :)
