Elevating The Awareness For Automotive Education and Sales Training

The August issue of Dealer Marketing Magazine hits dealer's desk this week and the focus of the issue is on dealer education and sales training.  I am very excited to have been selected to be part of the cover photo with a great group of automotive educators and trainers.

 

This summer PCG Digital Marketing kicked off the PCG Pit Stop tour and some of the Pit Stop speakers are featured on this cover including Paul Potratz and Dennis Galbraith.  I am blessed to have people like Paul and Dennis who volunteer their time to educate dealers and share their insights to the ever changing marketplace.  

 

I am also grateful for the PCG team for creating our educational curriculum and training programs.  Thank you Christine, Glenn, and Carrie.

 

I also want to thank great teachers like Ralph Paglia, Christy Roman, Kathi Kruse, John Quade, Matt Mullenberg, AJ LeBlanc, J.D. Rucker, David Page, Karin Anderson, Keith Shetterly, Joe Webb, and Brad Whisenhunt who have made Pit Stop workshops a great success.

 


Dealers Need to Increase Education & Training Budgets

In most large industries continuing education is a requirement for certification and licensing.  The automotive industry has no required continuing education or clearly defined certifications for important job functions.

 

When you visit enough 20 Group like I have done over the past few years, you realize that many dealers have NO BUDGET line item for education and training.  Dealers will admit how fast the digital age is changing how dealers connect and communicate with consumers.  Yet an Internet Sales Manager has to beg to attend a conference.

 

This picture needs to change.

 

This online forum has been a great supplement to dealer education and the insights, advice, and collaboration here is fantastic.  Online support combined with face to face training and education is the winning recipe for moving our industry forward.
