Don't Take Credit For Other's Efforts

This isn't going to be a long rant because I do most of my ranting in the video below, but it all definitely needs to be said. Taking an image that someone else took from one of the various picture-sharing sites on the internet and then slapping your watermark on it is a very poor practice. It's dishonest. It's a potential hit to your reputation. It's a little creepy.

One thing I do not mention in the video is that it reduces the chances that someone else will share the image from your page. This is huge, particularly if your goal with Facebook is to gain brand exposure. People may like the image and want to share it with their friends, but the picture of the shaved dog becomes a lot less interesting the moment that your dealership logo is slapped into the corner.

Ralph, I confess every time I get into a taxi. No, I didn't know there were companies that charge for this sort of behavior. Mind emailing me examples? I thought it was just a trend picked up at some 20 groups or something.

JD, this video kind of reminds me of "Taxicab Confessions"... BTW, did you know that there are businesses that make money by charging dealers for logo overlayed humorous images?
