The Premium SEO Package is priced in the same range that companies like and Cobalt offer on a monthly basis, which range from $400-$600 a month.  


Some of the included services may overlap with some of dealer's existing digital marketing investments and of course this might mark the first time TK has had to update hundreds of websites that are not on their own website platform.


Do you think any website platform providers will mind sharing the stage with a company that offers a competing website product?  

I don't think so, because a dealer can give access to any "partner" they choose to help with ethical Automotive SEO strategies.

@Glenn - Thank you for the vote of confidence. We have been preparing for this sort of ramp up for months ever since KPA purchased TK Carsites last year knowing that they would be able to improve our practices and make KPA SEO a service that could be scaled to fit a larger audience of clients. I look forward to talking to you in person about it; after the first few days things are progressing as expected.

I wanted to jump in an first congratulate DU and their choice of KPA/TK. I have a great deal of respect for JD and his team. He is constantly working to improve results for their dealers and the industry in general. As for DU when I spoke with Scott and Jesse during the process, any questions or concerns I had they both addressed to help me understand what DU was trying to do and how the process would work.

Some dealer friends asked me if I was upset we were not chosen. I am very competitive so a little :) but I deal from the abundance mentality. There are so many dealers who need help improving their business that being anything but supportive to JD and his team would be very small minded and a waste of energy and time.

This choice will be scrutinized for a few reasons, how TK can ramp up and what will results be. I have 2 hopes. That other vendors will be open minded with results and not just "hate" for hate sake. Secondly is that  the dealers understand this is not a flip of the switch service and they must bring some form of patience to the table.

I know JD and the team at KPA/TK will work diligently to provide great service for those who take the package.

@Chuck - As fate would have it, I just got done putting up viral content on YOUR site prior to coming to ADM to see what was happening. Check it out. It's a viral piece that will help with a couple of the pages plus bump the domain itself.

I have been a TK client for almost 8 years now. I was the second person to go on the Elite Package. This is a HUGE offering for minimal money. I have dominated my market online with the Elite Package. I'm excited for TK/KPA and DU. I wish you great success! I have the confidence that TK will be able to take on the 400+ new dealers and over deliver with better results than discussed here.

@JD with that said if I drop one listing we will be talking... (how's that for accountability)... =) Best of luck my friends! Kick some ass and take names!

@Larry - There are definitely parts of the package that are more important than others, the link building being the primary point of value. Even when selling a new car we have to point out some of the features that aren't available in every car. Bluetooth is something that isn't as important to a consumer as 35MPG, for example, but both should be mentioned when describing the vehicle. The same holds true here. I absolutely agree that every vendor should be doing some of the things on the list, but in reality some simply aren't. XML Sitemap Submissions are an example of a low-value but important component that was mentioned. Sadly, not every vendor is doing them. Are they as important as a PR6 link from an automotive news site? No. Lastly, we do not toss press releases into the wind and hope for the best. Our links are organic, high-value, and perfectly aligned with what Google and Bing prescribe. As you correctly surmised, it's the most valuable portion of the service.

@Kevin - You are a rockstar. I'm honored by the endorsement!

@iPitCrew - You're absolutely right. Results Results Results. That's the focus. The rest is fluff.

@Mike - Spot on. We work with dealers on both ends of the spectrum. Some want us to handle everything and do not even want to know what we're doing while others work with us as partners as we work together to guide their destinies. Our programs are designed to adjust based upon the dealer's involvement and has shown tremendous results whether they are actively involved or not watching at all. With that said, I wholeheartedly agree that the best results come when working with dealers who are either already involved in their own marketing or are willing to learn how to do more. One of my most proud moments was watching a dealer who knew nothing about Internet Marketing two years ago when they signed up speaking at the last Digital Dealer and Driving Sales Executive Summit. I literally choked up a little upon seeing him on stage echoing many of the strategies and principles we'd worked together on for the last two years.

I would agree with most of the posters that TK is one of the top SEO companies but I think that dealers who go this route are missing the point.  You need to have someone in house managing this for you. While a Digital Marketing Director may not be able to do all of the heavy lifting, there needs to be someone on your staff that knows what to look for in order to hold any vendor accountable, not just TK.  I also worry about scalability.  Let's assume 10% of DU take the offer, what company is ready to scale in order to meet the needs of 400+ dealers in a compressed timeframe? Like most vendor/dealer relationships, the dealer with the strongest internal team will get the most out of the vendor.  If I were a dealer, I would be more concerned about the people on my team than any outside vendor.  For the dealers who are doing very little with their SEO and have no desire to grow their own team, KPA will be a great choice.  I also think that the dealers who have a strong team will be in good shape to benefit from this relationship.  The one universal axiom for most vendors is that the "squeeky wheel" dealer gets the grease.  I agree with Larry that most of this offering should already be happening with your current vendor - but I bet it isn't ; )

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions Mr. Rucker and MR. Biter it sounds like everyone has done their due diligence during the discovery and planning stages and that there is a strong understanding of Google’s new “Algo” changes. I look forward to hearing about the successes, please consider posting those as time goes on. Results are always the right metric of measurement.....

Good luck to everyone on the launch. There is always room for a vendor who does the right things the right way for Dealers.

With that note:


2 pages per month? I would hardly call that Elite but if your dealership is not adding any content well its 100% better than what you have now. Worth $1147.53 Well that's a dealer decision.


Competitive ranking monitoring, well you can get that from SEOmoz much cheaper in my opinion.


Link Building - Actually in my opinion might be the most valuable part of this package and may on its own be worth the $469.53 per month, if there is more to it than a few press releases and a cross your fingers and hope someone links to the 2 us. Not sure how that would work without the content, I guess if you're in preimum then you need to come up with the content on your own and send to KPA otherwise what are they linking to and why?


In the end there is a lot of busy work here and nothing I can see that would get you to page one for any competitive term and if you're not on page one the you are one of the 2000 losers for that keyword / pharase.


@Kevin - What am I missing? Why should a dealer jump on either of these packages?

After all the suspense, many questions and comments, this is a great choice and opportunity for the independent dealerships.   From the dealer side, this is outstanding.  Great choice Jesse.  We all have different criteria, however, KPA is easily in any top 5 SEO vendor list and for me they are top 2.  Brian Pasch PCG holds #1 for me, most likely due to my location.  

Outstanding start for D U and J.D. I think you are going to be very busy.   I'm hearing too much sour grapes for personal agendas out there and few thinking about the customer.    DDC is focused on their new DMS launch and ADP, an outstanding company, simply didn't invest enough yet into the garbage which is Cobalt   

KPA has infused TK with many power players in the SEO market and I use J.D. as an expert for advice often.   This is a great start.  @ Manny, normally I am with you brother, TK is a strong player for websites, and digital marketing.   Those that are contractually free would be crazy not to jump on this offer.
