Professional Community for Automotive Marketers, Car Dealers, OEM and Suppliers
Craigslist’s Cars+Trucks has been littered with ads that, frankly, have little to do with selling a specific vehicle.
Some of the biggest offenders are companies selling services for vehicles rather than the vehicle itself. This ad, for example, will be a thing of the past beginning Dec 3rd. for the following reasons:
#1 - The ad will cost this firm money to post, even when it’s rejected.
#2 - The ad must be for a specific vehicle, which this ad is clearly not.
#3 - The ad can not be for a service.
#4 - Even if the ad makes it, it will not be visible when a user searches for a specific vehicles by make, model, year and price.
Ads like this are a major reason why dealers have seen a steady reduction in the efficiency of their current listings. Legitimate ads get lost in the fog of spam and duplicate ads, etc.
Is your dealership ready for the changes on Craigslist taking effect on Dec 3rd?
