The Chevrolet Groove is a concept car from General Motors and GM Daewoo in South Korea that was first introduced at the New York International Auto Show in 2007.
It was a far cry for a sports car but everything about it, from the exterior design to the interior comforts is truly classic Chevrolet.
This urban mini car looks more like a crossover with sleek exterior shell. Designers who have conceptualized the Groove realized that they had to create a car that speaks of functionality and nostalgia at the same time. With its flared fenders and classic upright windscreen design, the Groove will be a hit for urbanites with a passion for the good old city life.
This 5 door wagon type car is retro inspired and packed with a powerful 1 liter diesel engine; making it tough on the road as well as its looks. Looking at the interior of the Groove, it has plenty of passenger space with its long, flat cabin. Maximizing space is also a trademark of every Chevrolet car and thus it is also true for the Groove. The wheels are pushed back to open up space for baggage, luggage or just to make more room for a family of five. You would not imagine that it had plenty of elbow room from looking at the outside! The interior comforts are definitely a priority in every Chevrolet car and the Groove has too much to offer. Customizable front panels for car audio and video equipment, easy to maneuver seats, beautiful upholstery, robust panels and most of all a roomy sleek interior design. With the Groove, you can leave the city streets and follow the country road in style; front LED lamps and front wheel driving provides all weather performance as well.
Many have noticed the retro style of the Groove and compared it to the other Chevrolet cars like Trax and Beat, which were released at the same time. Although quite similar in the urban wagon concept, the Groove won by a landslide owing to its big leg room and flexible interiors. It was truly a winner too when it comes to exterior designs with many remarking on its 17” wheels.
The Chevrolet Groove is not just about design; it is all about safety too. It’s tough and robust exterior is great for all weather and all terrain trips. The designer, Jawook Koo, geared away from the insecure perception of a mini car and decided to create a design that could wow and impress instead of evoking cuteness.
To understand a Chevrolet Groove more is to drive one. Its powerful and light 1 liter engines is a dream to drive. Open air vents on the front keep the diesel engine cool too. Its compact design is easy to maneuver on the rood, letting you in and out of tight spaces as easy as pie.
So if you are looking at a compact mini car that does not compensate for roomy interiors then groove to the beat of Chevrolet Groove!
