ADM serves Car Dealers, Automotive Marketing Pros and Internet Sales Managers
I wanted to share the progress I've made on a new theme for Dealer Commerce. The guts of any dealer website predominantly revolve around the search and details pages. I thought it was pretty critical to really nail these pages on each custom theme I build. Here's what I've come up with so far:
The goal of the page was to display a plethora of vehicle information without being overwhelming. I also wanted to show BIG vehicle photos. Many dealer websites over optimize the most emotional aspect of a website - vehicle images. I feel price is the most sensitive piece of information to people and I wanted to focus attention not only around price, but around the pricing package itself. This involves incentives, finance rates, as well as vehicle trade-in information.
I want this page to be value-able to both automotive shoppers as well as the dealerships selling. I felt that certain lead actions you see on your local dealer sites are more actionable to those building the site than those actually using it. They're also awkwardly grouped together, sort of signaling a desperation to collect any information. That's still the goal. However, I felt a better approach was to place these actions around the page in many places, contextually.
This is a work in progress for me. I've had to think like a shopper, and ask myself how I best want to proceed. Those are the sort of actions I want to create. The goal of this page is not to sell a car, but to create an interaction between buyer and seller. Hopefully, those interactions lead to a sale and satisfied customer.
