Breaking News – Yelpers Now Able to Post Reviews from Mobile Devices

Yelp's been busy this summer. And they announced another new feature this week via their blog that now gives consumers the ability to write and post reviews directly from their mobile device using the Yelp mobile application.

add yelp reviews from phone

Yelp mobile reviews

Previously, mobile Yelpers could only leave a Tip from the mobile app, but still had to log in on their desktops to publish reviews. This enhancement makes it considerably easier for your customers to leave reviews for your dealership.

The new feature appears in line with other popular options on a business’s mobile Yelp listing page and can be accessed by tapping a new Add Review button on your iOS device (Yelp says that Android is coming soon). This will take you to a simple form where you can assign the usual 1-5 star rating and write up your review.

After rating a business and completing a review, customers use the Next button in the upper left to save the draft. A final version of their review will appear and they'll have the option to either close it and save it for later or post it right then.

Additionally, there will be an option to use your mobile device to take and add a picture to go with a review. After posting, the Add Review button on the business listing page will be replaced with an Edit Review button that will allow customers to alter or update their reviews if they wish.

This is BIG! Customers can now more easily and more immediately leave reviews about their experiences at your dealership. So you'll want to make sure that you have in-store signage posted throughout your dealership reminding customers who are Yelpers to find your dealership on Yelp. But remember--- not every customer is an ideal customer to leave a review on Yelp. The same rules still apply.

You'll also want to encourage your staff to get familiar with this new capability and process so they can help educate their Yelp customers who might not be aware of this enhancement to their Yelp mobile apps.

With nearly 10.4 million unique mobile devices accessing Yelp each month, that’s a lot of potential car buyers that can be reached. What do you think about this new Yelp feature?
