Artificial Intelligence-Tomorrows Construction Tech

Back in the days, artificial intelligence is something that you'd only find in sci-fi movies, but times have changed. It's now part of our daily life, and it's something we see almost everywhere.

This only proves that AI has limitless potential and some advantages that affect our lives. There's the launch of self-driving cars, and the use of IoT in the construction industry. That said, here's why artificial intelligence is tomorrow's construction tech.

The Rise of Big Data

The best way to describe AI is that it's a machine that copies the action of humans-- in a sense that it mimics human cognitive functions, such as learning, pattern recognition, and problem-solving. The only difference with humans is the fact that machine learning is possible with AI and algorithms are utilized to analyze the data it's exposed to. That said, a machine could understand and provide insights if it's being presented to more data on a constant basis.

That means, as we expose AI to more and more data, it would be able to adapt to what is happening in the environment. In the construction industry, the data gathered would be used to develop the project further.

The data taken from images with the help of drones, mobile devices, security sensors, and BIM would all serve as a pool of information. This is something that we can already observe, but there's one bit of a challenge-- that is, those who are in charge would have to figure out how professionals and customers would greatly benefit from this.

Better Efficiency and Safety

When we talk about safety in the construction site, the first thing that comes to mind would be the use of traffic barriers, such as plastic Jersey Barriers. These can be quickly assembled and perfect for situations where isolation is essential.

However, aside from barriers, technology made it possible to secure the job site even more. AI intelligence is what we're talking about. They offer precise data and insights that could help the workers ensure safety, productivity, and efficiency. There is various software that uses image algorithms, and recognition to figure out the specific search criteria, such as hard hats, safety vests, and high-visibility clothing.

Furthermore, safety manufacturers are also researching ways on how to increase overall job site safety. There are also operator assist programs that utilize AI algorithms to monitor and work on specific issues, with the help of computer vision methods.

This notifies the operator with a warning message in case something unusual is happening. Aside from safety, AI is also capable of performing repetitive tasks, that could really be painstaking to human workers.

The Fight Between Machines and Humans

The rise of artificial intelligence has also become a threat to humans thinking that because of this, they would be losing jobs as everything would be automated. This is far from reality; as experts believe that automation and automated machines are just part of evolution in a sense that new opportunities would also come with this change. The use of AI would be slow and steady, which means it would be helpful in more ways than one.
